San Marcos Historical Society Home Page

Thank you for your interest in the San Marcos Historical Society. We are a local organization dedicated to the archiving and preservation of the history of San Marcos,California. We have been serving the community since 1976, our museum has many interesting displays depicting life in San Marcos based on when it was founded. We also have a Heritage Park located inside of Walnut Grove Park off of Twin Oaks RD., which includes two of the original homes in the area the Cox House 1888, and the Bidwell House 1890. These two houses have been completely restored after many hours of volunteer labor from the Lions Club, The San Marcos Rotary Club, The Boy and Girl Scouts, The Kiwanis Club, as well as many local individuals, and more. All of which we owe our sincere thanks and gratitude for helping bring some history to the people of San Marcos
